The mission project of the Sunday School during the month of February is “Welcoming Refugee Friends to Canada”. Our refugee brothers and sisters are, first of all like us. It is the experience of other people’s anger and fear and hatred, the experience of fleeing to save their lives, the experience of seeking safety, that changes ordinary people like you and me into refugees on a journey.

Please purchase a “Foot” for $5 and help vulnerable refugees as they travel from the danger and insecurity of their homeland to a new and safer country.

Our donations will support the work of Action Refugees, Montreal in their support of newly arrived refugees. In response to your donation, you will receive a token of our appreciation. “Travelling Feet” will be available for purchase during coffee time in the month of February.

Souper Lunches

Souper lunches are being hosted by the community weekly in St. Andrew’s hall from now until March 10, 2010 from 12:30 to 2:00PM. St. Andrew’s – Chalmers will be hosting on February 3 and March 10.

Special Loaves and Fishes Food Bank Plan

The ministerial association of Uxbridge has agreed to support the food bank by each one of the churches taking a month this year and contributing specific items to the food bank. Concentrating on one item means that high use items are replenished.

January is St. Andrew’s – Chalmers month to contribute. Please bring cans of pasta sause or 20oz. cans of tomatoes.

Sunday School Focus

The Sunday school teachers have planned an interesting winter session for the children.

They have planned a focus for each month.

January will be about miracles.

February will be about mission.

March will be about how Easter is celebrated around the world.

April will be about parables.
